We have an office that uses a shared drive on a Linux server to store all of their project information. Can the indexing server properly index files that are stored here? Everything (mail server, project center server) else in that office is on Windows boxes.

Hello,

You have a very good question. Before I can answer your question i will need to gather further information. Can you please send me an email with your contact information. I will generate a case for you and we can set up a go to meeting to review your environment to see if indexing your files on a Linux server would be possible.

Regards,
joe

Hello,
I have not heard back from you with regard to your question around “Can Newforma Index files located on a Linux Server”? I wanted to let you know that Newforma can index files located in any environment that has “Windows file shares” setup. So in answer to your question, Newforma will be able to index files located on a Linux Server that is set up with “Windows file shares”.
If you have further questions or need more info please let me know.
Regards,
Joe
