UPDATE:
Here’s an update to my own post. The answer is, No, Newforma will not index email filed to an archived project. The project must be made active temporarily (overnight, for example) for the email to be indexed, and thus visible in the email log.

Once a month or so a user will ask to file email to an archived project.

Our archived projects are on a read only drive.

The solution we use is to have a Newforma administrator file the emails since they are permitted to do so.

My question is, will Newforma index email (or other files) added to an archived project?

It dawned on me that it might not since it wouldn’t expect any changes in an archived project.

Anybody know the answer?

Thx -Sam

Hi Sam , this is actually not indexing it is the FileInfoCashe that is written to the project to record the display information for filed email, if a project is set to Archive the project maintenance that runs nightly will skip over the project and not record any new information. Your actions were correct in setting it back to Active, once it is active the projects will be scanned for updates and the FileInfoCashe will be updated.
