as a newbee i don’t know if i’m overlooking these items, or, if they’re just not there:

- a simple dimension tool that would at least give you the tick marks and a line between two points that you want to indicate a length at.  -/———/-

- a .nmu file that remembers the view it was last saved with (right now they seem to only get saved in a ‘view extents’ mode)

- while the .num markup file allows for colored text, in my case, all text is changed to BLACK when converted into a .pdf - am i missing a setting on this one?

thank you for any input,

-gint

Hi, See below for answers to your questions.

- a simple dimension tool that would at least give you the tick marks and a line between two points that you want to indicate a length at.  -/———/-

There is a measure distance tool but it does not create dimensions the way you would like. I will log this as a feature request. Anyone else have anything to add to this request?

- a .nmu file that remembers the view it was last saved with (right now they seem to only get saved in a ‘view extents’ mode)

The viewer always zooms to the extents of the drawing being viewed when it starts up. If a particular view (or views) is/are important to you, you can use the Save Current View as Markup feature.

A snapshot of the current view will appear on the right hand pane in the Viewer and that view can be restored simply by clicking on the thumbnail. This preview is also visible inside of Project Center.

- while the .nmu markup file allows for colored text, in my case, all text is changed to BLACK when converted into a .pdf - am i missing a setting on this one?

I just tried to reproduce this behavior a few different ways but was unable to. Is there any additional information you can provide us?

Thanks,
Chad

I dug up this previous post while looking for information on markup tools.

I would also be interested in a dimension tool as requested above.  This would be very handy when you don’t want to know what the actual distance is but rather tell someone what the dimension should be.

I would also like to request a few more options for dash styles.  In particular, I would like to see larger scale dash styles and/or styles with more separation between the dashes.  As discussed here the rounded end caps make all of the dashes bleed together.  In addition to this behavior, if I adjust the annotation scale so that the dashes are sized appropriately I find that the arrowheads are ENORMOUS.
