Edit, Merge, delete duplicates and see what projects the contact is attached to.

Hi, Thanks for posting. From both the Administration Contacts tab and the Project Team activity center there is a task called Create a Projects by Member Report. You must select one or more Contacts or Project Team members in order for this task to appear.

As far as duplicates go, do you mean you have multiple contacts with the same name but different email addresses that have made their way into the contact list? Or are you referring to 3rd edition when the contact list was not centralized?

Thanks,
Chad

That a good point, I original was looking for a way to weed out the duplicate contacts, ie: one user may input a contact with a middle initial and another would input without the middle initial, both would show up separately.  I can see where this would be a problem with culling a firm contact database of thousands of contacts. I would then need to be able to open both contacts at the same time and merge/correct the info and delete the duplicate, but also replace the duplicate with the revised data in all projects that the contact is involved with.

Single contact with multiple email addresses would be a plus, too.

I would like to see a pull-down which would contain previously typed-in items, such as company names or phone numbers.  It’s not uncommon to have multiple contacts under the same company name, however it is common (at least in our company) to have a business name shortened or hyphenated or not spelled out fully.  This plays havoc on your column sorting.

Example: Some users will spell out Southwest Florida Water Management District, while others will use SWFWMD.  Or, Manatee County Planning Department becomes MCPD or MC Planning Dept.  If something is there in a pull-down already, users may be more likely to pick from the list instead of typing it in their way.
