In the Project Files activity center, we are experiencing problems when we have multiple files selected and then tell Project Center to open the files.  Two specific examples that we have tested are DWG and DOC files.

With DWG files, if we have multiple files selected and select the “Open with Newforma Viewer” option, everything works.  But, if we try and have those files open with the associated Autodesk application, the files are not opened correctly.  With AutoCAD, only the first selected file is opened.  With DWG Viewer, the first selected file is opened multiple times (the number of times that first selected file is opened is equal to the number of files that were selected).

With DOC files, telling Project Center to open the selected files only ever opens the first selected file.

Based on these observations this feels like an issue with Project Center.  The DWG Viewer behavior makes me think that Project Center is not properly iterating through the list of selected files when it is asking the external application to open the file.  Instead of stepping through the list of selected files, it just keeps opening the first selected file.

Hi Matt,

I was able to reproduce this using the Word files (not opening both) and dwg files (opening them both in the Viewer).  I will log this as an issue for further investigation.

Thanks!  Marge

It appears that this issue has been corrected in the v6.1 update.  I’ve confirmed this with DWG, PDF and DOCX files.

Can someone from Newforma confirm that this issue has been officially corrected?

Hi Matt,

I can confirm for you that this was indeed fixed in the point release. Thank you for bringing it to our attention!
