Newforma has released an important update to Newforma Project Center Eighth Edition.
This Edition includes a new feature for Newforma® Contract Management (an add-on module to Newforma Project Center) for project information management. Newforma® Punch List for Android® tablet is an app which makes punch list creation and communication faster, clearer and easier to manage. The tablet’s camera, video, markup and communication functions make it simple for architects, engineers, general contractors and construction managers to capture punch list action items, assign them to responsible parties, manage the process, and verify that items have been resolved.

With the release of Newforma® Punch List for Android® some additional terms and conditions of use for your Info Exchange website may be warranted. The update of Info Exchange to 8.1.1 will not modify your site’s current terms and conditions. Please see the “TermsAndConditions.doc” and consider making adjustments to your Info Exchange site’s Terms and Conditions.
This release also corrects the following defects which were identified through our own testing and feedback from customers:
Administration
• Enabled N4 Project create process to work on non-server machines
• Corrected erroneous “invalid server OS” error when running on a back-up domain controller
• Enabled project address as a location for Google maps (was lat. lon. only )
• Corrected issues with rich text boxes not displaying their text when spell check is disabled.
• Clarified error reporting around failing scheduled tasks to include the “log on as a batch job” requirement
• Modified Terms and Conditions for usage of Info Exchange site to include working around Punch List for Android.
Contract Management
• Corrected issue where “Response to Author” reminders were not working
• Corrected issue where the option of “Email forwarder” was not available unless the user had a CM license
• Corrected issue where an error was returned attempting to create an “Expected Resubmission” in an RFI or Submittal
• Added closed date to “Close” dialogs
• Corrected issue where Newforma crashed when a user without a CA License attempted to Record a Reviewer response from a Client
• Corrected issue where Function column in Contracts log was missing
• Enabled RFI and Submittal “due dates” and “reminders” to be “sticky”.
• Corrected issue where Newforma would crash when typing more than 30 characters into the “Lead Time” field in a Submittal.
Email Notifications
• Corrected issues of incomplete links in reminders for review responses
Info Exchange
• Corrected issue where exports of Punch List items on Info Exchange were only exporting the current page
• Corrected issue where files deleted from NIX folder can cause it to stop synchronizing
• Corrected some background file upload concurrency issues
• Corrected performance issue when loading Project Items List when the project had a large number of transfers via Newforma Mobile
Project Activity Summary
• Corrected issue where “Custom Project Activity Summaries” were not displayed in “Edit Project Activity Summary” dialog
Project Team
• Corrected issue where new contacts overwrote existing contacts if the existing contact’s email was entered first
• Corrected issue where GAL entries were being cutoff in Add/Update Contacts from GAL dialog if there was an error in the GAL
• Corrected issue where team members could not be removed from groups if they had been removed individually first.
Reports
• Corrected issue where item count report was not displaying in multi-project reports
• Enabled Transmittal IDs to be available for Submittal Log Reports
Templates
• Corrected typo in Import Timeline Items Template
• Corrected “activity centers table cannot be executed as a SQL statement” issue with Deltek integration
• Enabled Client Project number for CM forms
• Enabled submittal actions to be available in the transmittal form schema
• Corrected issue with PDF form generation where text had been shifted to the right and portions of text were cut-off
TimeLine
• Corrected specific errors when trying to subscribe to a project timeline
• Corrected issues with .ics calendar when modifying a recurring event
• Corrected issue where wrong events were being exported during export to image process in Project Timeline
• Corrected issue where Professional users could not import Timelines via a spreadsheet
Transmittals
• Enabled protection from unwanted overwrites when extracting contents to a folder which contains a newer version of an extracted file
• Corrected issue where low rights users could not access local files when sending transfers
User Interface
• Set WANMode limit back to 50ms to address previews being turned off at startup
Viewer
• Enabled the use of MText objects in stamps so that text wrapping is supported
• Enabled wrapping texted in stamps
• Corrected issue where PDF and Printer output was pixelized when zoomed in on an area of a report
• Corrected issue where the Newforma Viewer units always defaulted to imperial inches
• Corrected issue where stamps were sometimes rotated in Markups
• Corrected issue where Markup sessions could not be published from zip file
• Corrected some specific issues causing the Newforma Viewer to crash
• Corrected issue where text would appear blurry when creating a .pdf from a .dwg via the Newforma viewer
