Newforma is pleased to present OWP/P with our second Creative Adoption of Newforma “CAN Do” award. We appreciate OWP/P’s “CAN Do” attitude towards driving Newforma Project Center usage across every aspect of their business. Email, Search, and several other areas of Newforma Project Center took off quickly but the one part of the solution that did not was Newforma Info Exchange (NIX).
To help “encourage” folks to give NIX a try, Joseph Talamantez (Director of IT) decided on a two pronged approach. First, he told the team that .DWG files were no longer allowed as attachments to emails. Same held true for public folders. Second he turned off the company FTP site. After these two steps folks were lining up outside his door for NIX training and they have never looked back!!
A third initiative to drive adoption and usage of Newforma within OWP/P was to set up “Departmental Projects” in Newforma Project Center. Says Talamantez, “our HR, Business, Facilities and IT departments all have their own projects. HR uses NIX to send secure info to vendors for instance. IT uses Action Items to assign help desk tickets. In addition, our professional groups which include Healthcare, Education and Corporate now all have their own departmental projects for shared marketing, knowledge management and email access.”
