How Newforma Project Center saves time and reduces risk by providing a quick answer
One of our Account Managers (AM) told me a story from a recent customer visit. This customer told him that Newforma Project Center (NPC) saves their butt every day. So our AM asked how NPC had saved their butt that day? They told them him a contractor claimed our customer never sent them the latest set of drawings. Our customer checked the Info Exchange activity center where they noted NPC recorded the contractor had downloaded the materials in question. They then searched the Project Email activity center to see if there were emails from the contractor. They found 18 emails from this contractor on the set of drawings they claimed our customer never sent! Our customer created a nice record from the history tab in Info Exchange and Project Email to help “jog the memory” of the contractor.
Our customer did mention they could have found the information using their old pre-NPC systems but it would have taken over 30 days due to the number of people they would have to involve because the information would have been stored in multiple systems. They would have had to ask the team members to search their InBox and ask IT to search the log files on the FTP site. The NPC user felt empowered because they were able to get the answer themselves in a matter of minutes. This saved them time, left the project team members alone to focus on higher value work, and prevented a possible claim from the contractor later in the project.
