  JULY 2010

A new look, a new purpose

At customers’ suggestions, we’ve rededicated the Newformant newsletter to serve our user community with tips and tricks, best practices and resources for more efficient and effective project information management. (We'll produce a second newsletter for general news updates.) The Newformant newsletter is the counterpart to http://www.newformant.com, the user community website. As always, we welcome your input. We’ve built a great product on your suggestions. Let's do the same with this newsletter!

FOR NEWFORMA CHAMPIONS AND ADMINISTRATORS

Deltek Vision datasheet

The datasheet describing the integration between Deltek Vision and Newforma Project Center has been updated for Seventh Edition. Among other topics, it addresses the new Deltek Connect Outlook email plug-in, which is used to file emails into the Deltek CRM database. (This is in contrast to filing emails to project folders on your central file server, as the Newforma Project Center add-on for Outlook does.) See the Deltek-Newforma integration datasheet here.

Easier access to the Newforma knowledgebase

The Newforma Support knowledgebase is now available without first logging into the password-protected customer support site. There are more than 700 articles in the database, many of which are new or updated for Seventh Edition, with more being added every week. If you run into a problem that we’ve seen before, the knowledgebase very likely has your answer. To get to the knowledgebase from your web browser, visit the support page of newforma.com. From Newforma Project Center, click the down arrow next to the Help menu “question mark" icon.

What we're working on

We’re upgrading the look and feel of the Newforma user community website, www.newformant.com. And Newforma innovators at Boulder Associates Architects are preparing a new AECbytes Tips and Tricks contribution that shows how they use the Action Items activity center to manage lean design and construction. We’ll tell you about these developments and more in September!
